my guy has a really stinky butt.
does anyone else suffer from stinky butt syndrom?

Hi yes i do my min pin stinks!!!!!! i dont know if it is gas or just her she is only 6 months but boy can she clear a room lol!!!!!!

This is going to sound like an advertisement, but it's not.
I had the same problem with my black lab. She stunk up her entire sleeping room so bad that we no longer wanted to open the door! Lucklily for us, the stinky problem was just temporary. We used some stuff called Odor-Z-Way in the dog's room that a friend had told us about. It was awesome. We got a free sample from www.connecticut-camping.com .

I know this subject is a little old but I would like to add that if a dog has a bad odor coming from it's behind, this could be because the anal glands are impacted. All dogs have these glands and many times the sacs need to be cleaned out. This is a simple matter of having someone help you hold your dog while you squeeze the yuck out. I know this sounds gross and if you aren't comfortable doing this, you can take your dog to the vet or to the groomer and they will empty the anal glands.
The sure sign that your dog has this problem is if you see the dog scooting on it's butt across your carpet or the grass. Remember, when the dog is dragging it's butt across your floor, it's leaving bacteria everywhere. UGH!!!!
Make sure your dog is eating a healthy and nutritious dog food and not being fed 'people' food that contains artificial flavorings, preservatives, sugars, etc. Also, I would stay clear from canned dog food as well. Another thing that will cause an upset stomach for a dog is switching dog food. If you change your dog's food, make sure you do it gradually by adding some of the current food into the new food. Sudden changes in your dog's diet will cause gas, diarrhea and sometimes vomiting.
When you walk your dog, make sure the dog doesn't eat anything along the way especially dog feces.

1dog trainer, I had the problem you are describing with my own rottweiler. Although I just took him to the vet and he was able to diagnose the glands as being the problem.
